Lessons from the Idiots

Of late, Hindi movies have walked towards maturity. 3-Idiots and My Name Is Khan like commercial works find place in the market. The popularity of these movies compels the other commercial producers to do something like. It is observed that the test of the Indian cinema lovers is undergoing change, thanks to the worthless sex and violence based Hindi movies.
Cinema is a strong media for social change. So far Indian film industry, except a few notable films, denied its positive role in building a healthy society. The spurious capital that had so far no place in the recognised economic activities invested in films to get quicker return. The mafia and substandard elements have been operating the Hindi film industry one way or other. Hence, propagation of values and virtues in their produced films are unexpected. The government investment in making good films through good makers is also insignificant. Yet those third or fourth graded Hindi films have so far been able to implement a strong agenda of propagation of Hindi language throughout the country, what political and linguistic opposition failed to resist imposition of Hindi on non-Hindi belt of the country.
With the onset of globalisation, the present generation has to find their future in an interconnected and interdependent world based on English Language where Hindi has lost all its relevance. Secondly, with the availability of satellite channels, English movies with all its technical up-gradations have given birth to a new generation with a new tests of cinema. Traditional Hindi movies now find little place to sustain in the present environment unless they change their way of making films.
The captains of the Hindi film industry considering the future of the industry as bleak has been experimenting investment in thought provoking films based on reality. And their efforts are largely successful with films like Lagan, 3-Idiot, My Name is Khan or Slum Dog Millionaire etc. With the wind of success in Hindi film of new era, the regional film makers in Indian states will also follow the line. A good days ahead indeed!

"MAOISM"

Once I wrote in a journal questioning the term "Maoism" so used now by the Communist Party of India (Maoist) in order to justify their way of violent actions against the state machinery. I put forwarded my arguments based on my Marxist teaching and my arguments were debated across the political institutions in the country or outside. But I must admit that the writing though debated but failed to change the policy of the party in question. Some learned friends of mine suggested that a writer can not change the mindset of some political hotheads. I had no further comment than whatever I already put on record on Maoism.
I now say something different. The Indian state has heavily come down on the Maoist rebels in the affected village and towns. In this war my countrymen in uniform or civilians are massacred in one after another carnage. This political distrust of the innocent people are getting increased day by day. People are already squeezed by huge price rise on essential commodities. The majority Indian are directly affected with the non stop attacks by those black marketeers and hoarders. Well! they might not have died by the enemy bullets but are half dead by the price rise. But you wont hear that the hoarders and black marketeers are subjected to Maoists' attack.
Even then some political analysts say the Maoists are fighting for the rights of the tribal people in and around the forest area of the country. May be their way of actions disliked by many critics. Yet there is no proof that the Maoists are foreign agents aided by our enemy countries or groups. That means their patriotism is beyond question. Only their armed actions are condemned by the powerful and their stooges.
In my youth I saw Jaiprakash Narainji the great freedom fighter of India brought the infamous dacoits of Chambal area of Madhya Pradesh to the mainstream India. They were rehabilitated and all police cases were withdrawn in their favour by the government. Then why cant for the Maoists rebels? Why there should not be any sincere persuasion for a sustainable peace? Where is the statesman to act in order to get rid of the crisis? Unfortunately there is none. So the violence will be fought by violence and the red terror will be replied by the state sponsored white terror. And there is no end of it. The thrust for the human blood will never be ended.
In this war against the Maoists and their associates, the political managers are leaving no stone unturned in the corridors of power thereby providing dangerous opportunities to the real enemies , the Talibans or Al-Quida to divide India again on religious line. While some violent Maoists are committing gun battles for some economic gains of the tribal population in the countryside, the Talibans and their Indian mercenaries have threatened the existence of our country, our Parliament, our military, our democratic system and our people. Recently these evil force have threatened from one of our enemy lands across the border to destroy our peace loving citizens who will dare to watch our games and sports. They are regularly implementing their evil designs by committing Taj Hotel or Pune massacre and will commit so many in future.
I'm very sorry to conclude that the system in the Indian state machinery has been blaming each other and have miserably failed to protect its citizens and they may not be able to protect us in future too from the violent agents of Islam. This is because that Indian state power is yet to declare complete war to eliminate and drive out our main enemy from our holy land. The traitors are therefore allowed to cause destruction one after another to appease a section of the anti-national people only to secure the vote bank in order to sustain in power by the ruling political establishment even at the cost of the lives of our brave soldiers and innocent Indians. Hence, diversion of energy and wealth of the nation is felt essential to fight out those primitive Maoists groups by huge efforts. God bless my country India!

The Love That Never Ends

I'm blessed with a very good wife in my life. She has love and respect for me. She has not only presented two kids but also decorated my home with all her heart. Her contribution not only in terms of money but in terms of everything has filled my life what in one life time one can not expect. Her good deeds override her mistakes. I'm really fortunate to get her.
But I don't think I could make her happy. I tried my level best to do my duty towards her whenever situation occurred. Many a time, I with the blessing of God tried to rescue her from many threats of life occurred from serious illness. You may term it a simple duty towards an ailing wife. I agree. I recall in one occasion when I was sick it was none other than she despite her illness paid a regular visit to the hospital.
Her patience to tolerate any wrong doing on my part is noteworthy. I know she only blames her fate for choosing me as life time partner. I blame myself why I did injustice to her. Sometime I tried to expose my false pride of possessing vast knowledge in any dispute in order to undermine her. But she bears with the things and maintains solitude. She only breaks while she finds allegation of breaking the bond of love between me and she. But the allegation hardly comes true. But it is able to confuse our relationship.
There are witches and ghosts surrounding us those who always tried to damage our family making me as a soft target. In my youth, I remained extreme emotional and moved things without considering consequence. On my way, I got many who pretended to be my friends, but ultimately tried to poison me with only motif of breaking my family. With the grace of God, I was able to get rescued myself and restored my family peace. The evil force is still active. They will never be able to fulfill their evil desires. The force of resistance in me is more stronger than they.

The Construction

Man has no limit of his lust. Primary requirement of the human being is food, clothes and shelter. The stomach has its limit as it can not take food beyond its capacity. The clothes you wear may not exceed more than 2 or 3 pieces. But for shelter, one may have unnumbered if he can afford. The home you stay for long makes you bore and you look for a better option. You do not bother to leave it once you get your dream for another comes true. The home shelters another in place of you. It stands as it was, may be with some addition or alteration. It preserves the breaths of its owners and dear ones, their touches, their love. Those are not erased from its walls and floors even after change of owners. The man dies and his home stands alive for generation.

The Face of the Peoples Democracy

Man born and dies - a routine in human civilistion. Millions and billions are born and die remianed unknown. How many of them are memorable? Only a few hundreds or thousands! Why? He or she is recalled only for his/her contribution and great sacrifice for other. No one remembers him or her for they live for themselves only like wild animals. So why one should cry for the great masses of the people? Those people live as ungreatful, selfish, intoxicated and dishonest. No one should take burden for these lots. Let them suffer their own fate. This is one side of the story.

The other part is obviously disgusting! You can not despite entire disliking ignor these people. Each selfish carries a vote which can alter ones fate in the election for forming a government. So you have to say them hallo or pretend to be a wellwisher. You have to appease these lots in order to sustain in power. Thus fair motive of an elected representative goes suppressed and unfair desires dominate. The ultimte sufferer is the genuinely deserving and honest persons. This is the actual face of Indian democracy.

Now what do you want? will you discard it? Or will you show guts to change the system? But which way the change will come? The traditional way or some non traditional way? Here the debate lies. Everybody wants a change. Many of them do not know what should be the right way to acieve this. Some have taken shelter of guns to speak for change. The others also use violent methods but pretend to be non violent. No one gives any cognisance to peaceful non-violent methods of social change. So helpless the last lots in a civilised society.

Aila comes and destroys

In the last month, a newly named storm Aila made Bengal and adjoing area a havoc. People living in the coastal belt of Sunderban forest area became the worst sufferer. Hundreads of lives are lost. Salt water damaged the farm land, a million rendered homeless. Still dead bodies of human being and cattle lying unburied or uncreamated by the state government. Sons of soil have become refugee in their homeland. What a tragedy indeed!
While in the last holiday, I went to fetch some vegitables from the local market, a son in law of my friend who being a doctor teamed up with his many colleagues privately was purchasing commodities and medicines for the storm and flood affected people of Sunderban. What has touched me was a cooli, a carrier of those huge sacks, refused to take wages from the doctor and said, "I may be a poorest of the poor, and I am ready to starve for a day for those affected people. My wages is my contribution for them. May be we are hundreds of miles away from those people fighting for lives."
Coming back to my posh locality, I conveyed the message and asked some of my known folks for a collective action for raising money or medicines for the purpose for contributing through the organisors of Ramakrishna Ashrama who has been doing relief work there day and night. Those folks, on the contrary suggested to me, there is no problem why you yourself can not contribute to the relief fund. In doing so, there is no need for any collective venture. I felt disheartened listning them and remained unspeakable for some moments.

Patriotism or Election?

Oh Almighty God! I never saw you. I dont know my prayer will at all reach you or not. I was born on a land where 1,82,000 thousand farmers committed suicide in the last couple of years for their inability to repay the debts of moneylenders in western and central India. The children of these deads have become orphans. The wives are now widows. Dozens of farmers in Nandigram in the east have been massacred by the state police and their hired goons for not agreeing to acquisition by a 'marxist' government. The killers have made it a barren land with stain of human blood spotted here and there, where farmer used to produce cash crops. The violent passion of the Bengal Marxists to set up chemical hubs by the notorious Shaleem group of Indonesia took lives of the innocent people. Here again orphans and widows shade tears. I cant forget my countrymen 70% of them are able to earn each only Rupees Twenty a day. I bow my head with shame that I live with millions of hungry Indians who live their short lives with pains and diseases. Kings and British already left this country 60 years ago. Still people in millions suffer on this 'Holy land'. Elected representatives of Parliament, Assembly houses are not really ashamed like me. Hunger or poverty is not a national issue but election is. Issue is who will rule this country with so many false promises. Now India votes once again.
