SAY NO TO KILL

"A simple question that haunts me a lot and perplex me all the time in my leisure. Is it the savage instinct that leads to kill a person or an animal only for the flesh or fest? I tried hard to understand the supreme value and enormous dignity of BLOOD, or it is an ordinary liquid connective tissue like skin and bones that works physiologically. To find the question, certain creative and pertinent questions come to my mind one after another? For an example, harmless deer is killed by the mighty tiger or lion everyday. The flesh of the deer wards off the hunger of the tigers. The theories are simple here as the survival of the fittest and mighty food chains. But in human society where the relation between a man and its genetic cousin is not like the predator and prey. In the jungle, might is the right but in human society, everything is possible and justified! Killing a man or men and hush up all evidences or documents is fair to the law enforcing agency. But in the light of humanity it is a crime. Then what is the fundamental difference between a man and an animal? Although man is also an animal (social).

However Man, who only can judge in the ultimate sense. Now come to the thousand dollar question. Question is why not a hang man or a terminal executioner is a killer in terms of the law? A man who killed a man is called a killer and also having all the proofs, evidences and documents of committing a homicide in cold blood, is not a killer. Often in a war field where a soldier kills his fellow army man of the opposite side. Who the man to give a death sentence or the directives to kill a man of this kind? Is it the verdict of the God, the nation, the government or the judiciary or bureaucratic system of the mankind? There is no respect and dignity for the supreme liquid and a beautiful gift of God called lives .

Similarly, for the reason of your ‘self-defence’, you could kill or perish a man, is not a killing? Even under the pretext of saving your own life. A killing is a killing whether it is an abatement of suicide, homicide, genocide or a judicial killing.

When you can’t create a life, then who has given you the right to kill a man. A death is for what? For the sake of the Holy Grail, we all have to preserve blood, honour blood; otherwise no one can survive and escape on the Judgment day. Lets pray to God for a decent life and a graceful death."

Political Arrogance

Transport owners across West Bengal paralyzed the state by a day's strike demanding rise in fare structure. On careful observation of the pre-strike development, it was revealed the TMC party supremo ignored the owners' association unaffiliated to any political party. The official letter sent by the striking association to the chief minister to discuss their problem of operating bus, taxi or trucks etc. at financial loss owing to hike in diesel price by the central government was simply ignored and  the same was not even officially acknowledged, regretted the spokesman of the Association on camera. On the contrary, other association affiliated to TMC was invited to make them agreed not to participate in the strike what they obediently complied upon. Yet the strike could not averted and it was near total causing extreme harassment and suffering to the people.

What is the writing of the wall? Onlooker summarized that either you behave as per wishes of the lords of the kingdom or perish. Either you belong to the parasites of the king else you go to hell. Any opposition to the king is an uncivilized act which may be tolerated once but not forever.

In the turmoil, lords and ladies in power found sign of conspiracy against a party in power only for 40 days. But the easy theory of conspiracy could not be established because involvement of the power-losers could not be established as yet. In fact, political opponents found it difficult to corner the powerful in the game. It is a proven fact the positive attitude of the newly elected government was found in reducing Rs.16/- cost of per gas cylinder meant for supply to the consumer and accepting revenue loss despite weak position in the state coffer. People are able to realize a state government can not do much than the gesture already shown, hence they cant be blamed. Therefore the calling of a strike to put a new government in trouble was thoughtless and an act of arrogance.

Dr Kabir on Mumbai blast

Pakistani bastards have struck again. What jihad those bastards perform by killing innocent people on the street? Where were those bastards when muslims were being killed at Afghanistan and Iraq by hurling cluster bombs? Saale, haramzaadon himmat hai to Bush ko marke dikha, ghareeb janta ko marke kya bahaduri dikhata hai . In kutton ne saari duniya mein Islam ko badnaam karke rakkha hai.

I have a feeling that the law of our country is very weak against terrorism. This is a country where Azmal Kasab is still surviving even after doing such a hineous crime. Very funny. He should have been killed instanly. Such exemplary punishment should be given to the terrorist so that their heart tremble with fear before attempting any more attack.

I am furnishing a copy of the letter which I had sent to The Telegraph:

" The news of terrorism and killing of innocent people on print and electronic media traumatizes human minds all over the world. The film My Name is Khan has given a clear message that in this world there are two kinds of people- good people and bad people. Obviously the population of good people is much more than bad people. Time has come for the good thinking people all over the world to evolve comprehensive strategies to crush terrorism of any form be it maoist, al qaida, lashkar e toiba, Indian mujahideen, talibans, simi, jews or shiv sena. It may be suggested i) to stop all sorts of blame game to gain political mileage and figt terrorism in a concerted way ii) to introduce a subject of “Anti terrorism” in all the schools, colleges and universities. This subject will deal in the root cause of terrorism, vigilance against terrorism, how to fight terrorism, dos and donts during any terrorist attack and aftermath. iii) In all the countries, a Ministry of Anti Terrorism should be created which will deal exclusively with terrorism. This Ministry should be independent of Ministry of Home Affairs because Home Ministry is busy with many other aspects. iv)World summit should be organized very frequently to discuss terror related issues so that all the countries can work together in tandem to crush terrorism. v) There should be regular program on the TV channels and regular publication of articles on newspapers to focus on Antiterrorism.

Terrorism has crossed all limits, no more wait and watch, let us do something very positive. "

Dr Sarma adds

The Parsi community is well known for their benevolence. Whatever has been done by the Tatas at Taj, Mumbai, could be more than appropriate, but, their selection of three crop-yielding plots at Singur for Nano is initiation of a criminal act tactlessly attempted for completion by Buddha, the then chief minister of West Bengal. Goutam Buddha converted Chandashoka to Dharmashoka. And our Buddha converted DharmaTATA to Chandal TATA.

Success is not a Long jump nor a High jump , its a Marathon of Steps

A news reporter asked Ratan Tata as to why Tatas are not making as much money as Reliance. He was said to have replied, We are industrialists. they are businessmen.

What TATA did to 26/11 Mumbai victims?

A must read Topic for all Indians

LET THE WORLD KNOW WHAT IS CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY?

THE NEWS WE DO NOT KNOW! The Tata Gesture

All category of employees including those who had completed even 1 day as casuals were treated on duty during the time the hotel was closed.

2. Relief and assistance to all those who were injured and killed

3. The relief and assistance was extended to all those who died at the railway station, surroundings including the  Pav bhaji vendor and the panshop owners.

4. During the time the hotel was closed, the salaries were sent by money order.

 5. A psychiatric cell was established in collaboration with Tata Institute of Social Sciences to counsel those who needed such help.

 6. The thoughts and anxieties going on peoples mind was constantly tracked and where needed psychological help provided.

 7. Employee outreach centers were opened where all help, food, water, sanitation, first aid and counseling was provided. 1600 employees were covered by this facility.

8. Every employee was assigned to one mentor and it was that persons  responsibility to act as a single window clearance for any help that the person required.

 9. Ratan Tata personally visited the families of all the 80 employees who in some manner either through injury or getting killed  were affected.

10. The dependents of the employees were flown from outside Mumbai to Mumbai and taken care off in terms of ensuring mental assurance and peace. They were all accommodated in Hotel President for 3 weeks.

11. Ratan Tata himself asked the families and dependents as to what they wanted him to do.

12. In a record time of 20 days, a new trust was created by the Tatas for the purpose of relief of employees.
13. What is unique is that even the other people, the railway employees, the police staff, the pedestrians who had nothing to do with Tatas were covered by compensation. Each one of them was provided subsistence allowance of Rs. 10K per month for all these people for 6 months.

14. A 4 year old granddaughter of a vendor got 4 bullets in her and only one was removed in the Government hospital. She was taken to Bombay hospital and several lacs were spent by the Tatas on her to fully recover her.

15. New hand carts were provided to several vendors who lost their carts

16. Tata will take responsibility of life education of 46 children of the victims of the terror.

17. This was the most trying period in the life of the organization. Senior managers including Ratan Tata were visiting funeral to funeral over the 3 days that were most horrible.

18. The settlement for every deceased member ranged from Rs. 36 to 85 lacs [One lakh rupees translates to approx 2200 US $ ] in addition to the following benefits:

 a. Full last salary for life for the family and dependents;

 b. Complete responsibility of education of children and dependent  anywhere in the world.

c.Full Medical facility for the whole family and dependents for rest of their life.

d. All loans and advances were waived off irrespective of the amount.

e. Counselor for life for each person

B. Epilogue

How was such passion created among the employees? How and why did they behave the way they did?

The organization is clear that it is not something that someone can take credit for. It is not some training and development that created such behavior. If someone suggests that  everyone laughs. It has to do with the DNA of the organization, with the way Tata culture exists and above all with the situation that prevailed that time. The organization has always been telling that customers and guests are priority.

The hotel business was started by Jamshedji Tata when he was insulted in one of the British hotels and not allowed to stay there. He created several institutions which later became icons of progress, culture and modernity. IISc is one such institute. He was told by the rulers that time that he can acquire land for IISc to the extent he could fence  the same. He could afford fencing only 400 acres.

When the HR function hesitatingly made a very rich proposal to Ratan he said do you think we are doing enough?

The whole approach was that the organization would spend several hundred crore in re-building the property why not spend equally on the employees who gave their life?

                              MY VIEWS
Many thanks to them who forwarded the msg. Its ridiculous to watch opposite action of Tatas in case of Singur village under Hooghly district of West Bengal where the corporate forgot social responsibility towards landless, marginal land owners in thousands those became the victims of a proposed automobile industrial estate. Those victims might not have killed or made physically handicapped by terrorists bullets but obviously suffered the same trauma once police and harmads drove them forcibly out of their farm land and made them beggar overnight. The minor girls and women were molested, raped and killed besides causing physical torture and arresting on false charges to hundreds of innocent protesting forcible acquisition of their farm land. The whole of Bengal raised voice against CPM harmads and condemned Tatas for encouraging inhuman action by the state administration. The Tatas were condemned world wide.

It should not be forgotten that corporates worldwide behave brutal once their attempt for investment of capital at the cost of human sufferings is resisted. Corporate responsibility means to build up image in the society and safeguarding of uni-national and transnational capital and it also means to extend relief package to the section of people live as parasites of those multinational and transnational corporate capital. And M/s Tata & Sons belongs to the same category.
